The former Reich Air Ministry is the most prominent relic of the former government district at Wilhelmstrasse, and, with more than 2,000 rooms, the largest office building in Europe. The four- to seven-storey office complex was built around three inner courtyards and four courtyards, which open to the rear to an old park. The main entrance is located in a commemorative courtyard at Wilhelmstrasse and is also the symmetrical axis. The façade consists of various types of shell limestone quarried in Franconia.
