Creating + Building with Natural Stone

Haus Henkel
Henkelstraße 67
D-40589 Düsseldorf

Architect
Wilhelm Furthmann, 1836 –1929

The today listed house with its "Henkel Tower" has become a trademark of the chemicals group. In 1926, the house was originally located on the "Large exhibition for healthcare, social welfare and physical exercises (GeSoLei)" in Düsseldorf. In advance of the exhibition, however, it had already been planned to move the exhibition facilities to the company grounds. This is the reason why the exhibition building was executed as a steel skeleton and the façade was cladded with plates of Cannstatt travertine.
